“Green” building has emerged as one of the most important issues of the construction industry today, and The Villages at Cascade Head Resort is committed to the most stringent sustainable building practices. These impressive single family, townhomes and fractional ownership homes on the Central Oregon Coast are not only beautiful, but they are intrinsically better for the environment because of the sustainable products utilized in the building process. The Village’s is offering a first opportunity to learn more about Green Living on the coast for those who Get On The List Here.

One example of the Village’s efforts is using Nichiha Siding on the homes, a product that contains over 50% fly ash, a post-consumer waste material generated at coal burning facilities. Converting this material saves landfills over 75,000 tons of waste each year. This extremely durable fiber cement siding material is not only beautiful, but offers a “green” building product option, AND improves the product’s performance characteristics. The Nichiha cement siding products are termite and insect resistant. In addition, the siding comes with an impressive 50-year warranty. The reduction of landfill waste used to create the siding, in addition to its low maintenance reduces environmental impact.

Nichiha’s website heralds its sustainable stewardship: “At Nichiha our mission for over 50 years has been to utilize the natural resources entrusted to us with the utmost environmental diligence and which maximizes recyclability, all in an effort to reduce our world wide impact on the environment; while maintaining the highest product performance standards.”

The Villages at Cascade Head’s commitment to ecological social responsibility by using sustainable building techniques has earned them coveted Platinum LEED certification. "Platinum is pretty rare. It's pretty difficult to get," said Randy Hansell, senior green building consultant with Earth Advantage Inc., the Portland-based nonprofit that verified the standard of the building. Just as The Villages at Cascade Head Resort is a leader in offering sustainable homes with Platinum LEED certification, Nichiha is the world leader in fiber cement materials research and development. Nichia substitutes non-recyclable materials with recycled post-consumer and post-industrial waste.

The Village’s 474 acre site sits atop Cascade Head on the northern edge of Lincoln City on the magnificent Central Oregon Coast. Designed to be an eco-sanctuary beach resort, the Village’s offers single family, town-homes and fractional investments in a village-like setting with one-of-a-kind amenities that beach lovers, nature lovers, and luxury home dwellers can enjoy.
