LIVING “GREEN” ON THE OREGON COAST

 We have carefully planned and are building this project within the stringent “Eco-Density™” concepts to allow for ecological preservation, while at the same time, through innovative and sensitive design concepts, increasing the quality of life for all homeowners and residents. We consider “Eco-Density™” to be a stewardship of natural resources that takes into account the overall environmental impact and energy efficiency of home building design. What results are enhanced overall neighborhood aesthetics, with homes blending into the natural setting and offering more of the environmental reasons for wanting to live here. Some 50 percent of our overall development will be left untouched, and there will be 10 miles of nature trails and bicycle paths, neighborhood parks, nearly 90 acres of wildlife corridors and wetlands, and a community town center.

Adjacent to 12,000 acres of natural, federally-protected timberlands in one of nature’s most beautiful settings anywhere in the U.S. on the north Oregon coastline, “The Villages at Cascade Head” takes our environmental protection role very seriously. We all know that our Earth’s resources need to be carefully considered and respected in everything we do in our daily lives, and so from our initial land use and architectural planning stages virtually everything we are doing is keeping this fully in mind.

Leading edge technologies incorporating “green” architectural and sustainable development concepts are being fully implemented at “The Villages at Cascade Head”. Combining this area’s historical past with the present, homes will truly “fit” here and blend ecologically and naturally into this unmatched, pristine setting. Homes built of concrete “ polysteel” will help virtually eliminate moisture problems and make your new home cleaner, quieter, more structurally secure and energy-efficient. We feel that drier, quieter, safer, longer-lasting and far less expensive heating is obviously very advantageous for homeowners. Also, eliminating the need for lumber helps save our precious forest lands and natural resources.

State-of-the-art technologies and systems being utilized include solar energy, geothermal and stormwater reclamation and are predicted to make homes cost 40 to 60 percent less to heat and cool than a conventional home. “The Villages at Cascade Head” is currently under application for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification , a third-party certified seal of quality in environmental sustainability and performance developed by the nonprofit U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to nationally recognize green homebuilding.
